Privacy and cookies

This page explains what personal data EightRatio collects, why, what you can ask us to do with it, and how we use cookies. We keep it short because we collect very little.
Who we are
EightRatio is a trading name of M. Gonopolskyi, a sole trader registered in Israel. For the personal data described here, we are the controller.

What we collect and why

We do not sell personal data, and we do not use it for automated decisions that affect you.
When we act for our clients
When Ellie answers messages for a company that uses our service, that company is the controller of its customers' data and its own privacy notice applies. We act as its processor, under a written agreement, and use that data only to provide the service to that company.
Who we share it with
We use a small number of service providers to run the business:
- Google (email), in the EU and United States;
- CRM (website hosting, customer records and the AI that runs Ellie), in the United States;
- GitHub (hosting of a copy of this website), in the United States.
We run the business from Israel, which the UK recognises as providing adequate protection for personal data. Transfers to our providers in the United States rely on the UK–US data bridge where the provider is certified, and on the UK International Data Transfer Addendum where it is not.
How long we keep it
- Conversations with prospective clients: up to 2 years after our last contact.
- Business contacts we reached out to who did not reply: up to 12 months.
- Messages sent to a demo we set up for you: up to 90 days, unless you become a client.
- If you ask us not to contact you, we keep only your email address on a do-not-contact list, so that we never email you again.
- Records we need for tax and accounting: as long as the law requires.
Your rights
You can ask us to give you a copy of your data, correct it, delete it, or stop using it. You can object to marketing at any time, and we will stop. Email michael@eightratio.com; we will reply within one month.
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk. We would appreciate the chance to put it right first.
Cookies
Cookies are small files a website stores in your browser. We do not use advertising or analytics cookies, and we do not track you across other websites.
This website sets no cookies. The fonts on this site load from Google Fonts, which receives your IP address to send them; Google Fonts does not set cookies.
If we ever add cookies that are not strictly necessary, such as analytics, we will ask for your consent first and list them here.
Changes
If we change how we use personal data, we will update this page and the date at the top.
